Over 20 years ago, I started my translation and interpretation business on the side. I did great in part because I am a journalist by trade and have a solid command of the Spanish language, but also because I work using international Spanish accessible to all Spanish-speaking individuals regardless of their country of origin. 

After the first couple of years as a translator, I noticed that people often did not want to read lengthy documents because of a lack of attention or low literacy. In many Spanish-speaking countries, the literacy level is low, which means that not everybody can read and comprehend written materials.
